Freshly Minted Baby Cheetahs at the National Zoo
Ready … set … cuteness! Two 1-month-old cheetah cubs were transported to the Zoo last week from the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute. They won’t be on exhibit until late this summer, but in the meantime you can read about their rocky entrance into the world and the extraordinary measures our vets and animal care staff took to save them:

* So these motherfucking frogs… the females are so much larger than the males, as well as being fairly spherical, so the males cannot amplex the females (amplexus is the mating grip of frogs and toads). The female secretes a sticky glue like substance so that the male will adhere to her back for mating… I’ll let you write your own joke for this.
